The main activities of SCT have continued
through another year and have included joint services on Sunday Mornings for
New Year Covenant, Good Friday and Pentecost and regular evening services on
the first Sunday in the month around each of the churches. In addition a
joint Lent Course and a Pentecost Boat Trip have provided excellent
opportunities for the various congregations to share with one another and
develop friendships.
For 2008 the Lent Course at ‘Our Lady’ has
proved popular and well attended and there are moves afoot to arrange a ‘Fun
Day’ for Pilmere Estate followed by a Sunday Service in a Marquee on the
Green. This year there are also plans to revive the Course for Saltash
College in the Autumn – details to be announced.
2008 now sees Jeff as Vice President and
President Elect of Saltash Churches Together and so perhaps we might offer a
gentle encourager for more of our people to share in the joint activities,
which, on the whole are poorly supported from our church.
