Operation Christmas Child is a scheme organised by
Samaritan's Purse, whereby shoe-boxes are filled with gifts for a boy or
girl within certain age ranges. Saltash Baptist Church has been a collection
point for these boxes for a number of years now, and Christmas 2007 was no
exception.
Filled Shoe-boxes were collected from congregations within
Saltash also a school Brownie Pack Cub Pack Friday Toddler group and several
church members took information leaflets into their workplaces receiving a
TREMENDOUS response.
A
very grand 501 boxes were donated and transported to Romania. A
sincere thank you to all of you involved in this annual collection, and also
for the help in packing the van!
Please
do not underestimate the impact receiving a gift of a shoe-box has on a
child. I would urge you to look on the
Samaritan's Purse web site for
reports of this years distribution of boxes. It is very humbling to read
these moving reports.
If you've never taken part in the scheme you may consider
taking part in 2008. Many thanks
