BMS: Continues as the main thrust for the
overseas support work of the church with financial gifts being made from the
church general fund and by the home collections from the globes
The church also has a Link Missionary to
support, provided through BMS’s LinkUp scheme. Until February when she
retired this has been our own member Mary Parsons in Angola. The church also
provides financial support for a preschool PEPE project organised by a
Baptist Church in Calemba, Angola and administered by BMS missionary Lynne
Brown. Lynne Brown is now our new LinkUp Missionary and we expect to have
the opportunity of meeting her later in the year.
BMS Birthday Scheme: Members subscribing to
this scheme receive a very attractive Birthday Card on the appropriate day
together with an envelope for a donation. These donations go separately from
all our others into a BMS Special Fund to support Overseas Medical Work.
